Project ManagementOur proven approach to project management is based on our complete understanding of the business culture, business processes and the partnerships we created with our clients and business stakeholders. Our insight into the client’s business processes has enabled us to understand the frustrations staff members face in working within tight deadlines. PSL recognize that change can be an enormous undertaking for as organizations move from manual to automated processes. Our intent is to empower the staff by providing a solid solution that helps the business realize that there can be flexibility within a structured work environment. PSL’s tailored, iterative approach enables us to deliver value quickly, learn from the experience, and evolve with agility in lockstep with the ever-changing needs of the both the technical and business environments.

PSL continue to use and improve upon our existing, highly effective Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for Software Design and Development projects. We tailored this structured methodology from PSL’s own Development Methodology and Transformation Life Cycle (TLC) based on PMI, and SEI CMM/CMMI Level 3. Our accelerated and repeatable methodology focuses on defining a clear and manageable set of requirements that will be packaged into a release. We use a variety of standards for web tools and technologies to design and build the software components, configuration elements, interfaces, and database objects necessary to support our clients. We employ several forms of testing across the multiple environments to ensure that the system adequately fulfills the requirements and meets all relevant standards. We promptly analyze defects and respond accordingly. The final step in our iterative process is Deployment & Installation Support. Once approved and authorized by the client, the application will move forward to production with all supporting documentation needed for maintaining the successful operation of the system.

Process Throughout the entire lifecycle our project management practices along with the Software Development Plan serve as the foundation for the scope, schedule, and allocation of resources needed. Our project management approach ensures top quality, on-time delivery, and satisfaction with measured results that meet or exceed expectations. We are able to accomplish “excellence” by working to understand risks, the client expectations, constraints, deliverables, timeline, etc. PSL incorporates the SDLC into its technical solutions to ensure all steps are properly executed and risk is minimized. The technical project managers understand the complexities and processes associated with developing, implementing, and maintaining the operations of applications and databases. We employ proactive risk management as well as adherence to standards for quality assurance and security.

We know how to make client projects successful, and our solution includes these key components:

  • World-Class Program/Project Management. PSL staff bring over 15 years of world-class program and project management experience and have extensive experience managing complex projects within Treasury and other regulatory agencies. Most of our leaders have their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and bring a wealth of experience from both commercial and government agencies. PSL proudly employ leaders that manage large scope projects and have implemented solutions that are tailored specifically to the client’s environment, technology and people.
  • At project start, the project team will develop a standardized project plan that includes: a work breakdown structure, schedule and critical path, resource allocation, risk management, configuration management, change control, quality assurance, and performance measures. Our approach will ensure that our entire project team provides top quality, on-time delivery, and M&P leadership satisfaction with measured results that will exceed expectations.
