Peniel Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Cloud & AI Engineer in Washington, D.C. or Atlanta, GA in a hybrid capacity to design, build, and support secure cloud and AI-driven solutions for public sector clients. Responsibilities include enhancing and expanding PSL’s FedRAMP-authorized TransAccess GovCloud Records platform, integrating AI-powered capabilities into existing cloud-hosted government systems, supporting technical delivery across active federal and state/local government contracts, and contributing technical expertise to new contract pursuits. Work closely with PSL’s CTO and engineering leadership to own technical delivery from architecture and design through implementation, automation, deployment, documentation, and ongoing production support.
Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications, APIs, integrations, and automated workflows using Python and AWS technologies. Build and manage infrastructure-as-code deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar automation frameworks. Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud operations best practices across secure environments. Monitor and troubleshoot cloud-hosted systems, services, and integrations to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
Implement and support applied AI and intelligent document processing capabilities using technologies such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Textract, Azure OpenAI, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and related managed AI services. Contribute engineering expertise to the integration of AI-driven automation and document intelligence solutions within existing government systems and workflows.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, developers, and project teams to support technical delivery for federal and state/local government clients. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, implementation details, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures. Support secure and compliant cloud environments aligned with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and related government security standards and frameworks.
Requires 6 years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or a closely related occupation involving AWS cloud infrastructure, GovCloud environments, Python development, API integrations, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline management, AI-enabled cloud services, cloud monitoring, and secure enterprise or government systems. Additional experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus. Experience working within federal, state, or local government IT services environments preferred. AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud certification preferred.
